Résumé en anglais

Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are indolent neoplasms arising from cells of the neuroendocrine system, most frequently in the gastrointestinal tract. A prior analysis showed increasing incidence of gastroenteropancreatic NETs (GEP-NETs) in the US, with variations among organs and with higher rates in older patients and males. However, we lack nationwide representative data assessing GEP-NETs among different demographic groups and organ types. Given the variation of manifestations, management, and prognosis of NET in different organs, these data are essential; thus, we conducted a comprehensive nationwide evaluation of GEP-NETs incidence.
