Résumé en anglais
Active surveillance and watchful waiting, periods of observation rather than early treatment, are considered optimal initial management strategies for individuals with nonaggressive prostate cancer.A recent surveillance study found low risks of metastasis (1.4%) and cancer mortality (0.1%) with active surveillance in individuals with primarily low–risk prostate cancer, typically defined as the lowest Gleason grade groups (GGs), prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels, and clinical stages.
