Résumé en anglais
Background: Reports from several registries have garnered concerns over the increasing incidence of pancreatic cancer among younger persons, particularly women, in the United States (1, 2) and globally (3). Although some attribute this trend to increasing rates of obesity, others have found no obvious cause. Increasing cancer incidence, however, may not reflect increased true cancer occurrence but instead increased diagnostic scrutiny. If cancer occurrence is truly increasing, incidence and mortality would be expected to increase concurrently, as would early- and late-stage diagnoses.
